What information do you have about dyslexia?
We have several FACT SHEETS that you can read or print directly from the IDA website on the internet. Click on the "IDA Website" button on the left side of this page. Be sure to scroll down to see all of the titles.

My child is not doing well in school. What can I do?
1st. Check with your child's teacher.
2nd. You can request that your child go through the assessment process.
3rd. There is much information on line about dyslexia. Read several sources and check the information against the characteristics of your child.
4th. Check with your pediatrician

My child needs extra help. Are there tutors available?
Yes we have tutors. Contact Gwelda Carlson at 402-423-4490, and she will help you.

What method is the best for helping my child overcome reading difficulties?
There are several reading methods that are available to assist children who have reading difficulties. You can go online and you will find information sharing about appropriate reading methods. The guide is to make sure that it is a direct instruction approach based on scientific research.
